Why Cypress Overland?
Cypress Overland is a boutique rental company based in San Francisco Bay Area, California. We have custom built and fully equipped 4x4 overland vehicles to make your road trip adventure easy. We offer a personalized ‘white-glove’ service to our clients - the prices that you see are all-inclusive and there are never hidden fees and no guessing game on what the total will look like. Our rigs are fully-equipped with roof-top tent or pop up tent, camping gear and a full kitchen - we curate the best looking quality camp furniture on the market.
Our overland Jeeps, trucks and SUVs are a pleasure to drive, have high clearance and all have 4WD to take you beyond the tourist trails and organized campsites - to places inaccessible to large RVs or campervans. The beauty of the overland vehicle rental is it's 4x4 capability - gravel and dirt roads are only fun if you can navigate them safely. That's why our fleet consists of the most reliable and fun off-road vehicles on the market, like Jeep Rubicon, Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Toyota FJ Cruiser.
We offer awesome add-ons to make your California road trip adventure easy. Flying into SFO and don’t feel like Ubering in traffic? We will meet you at SFO or any Bay Area location - we offer both pick-up and drop off. During checkout, you can also add a bike rack for your sport/mountain bikes and additional miles to cover a longer trip.
Once the trip is booked, we work with you to plan the road trip of your dreams. We are explorers ourselves and we are often away exploring places like Death Valley, High Sierras, Yosemite NP, Big Sur, Southern California etc. We are always on the mission to find awesome dispersed camp spots. So when the customer says "We want to see Yosemite, Death Valley and Big Sur in 8 days" - we work together to develop a day-by-day itinerary with GPS coordinates for overnight stays. Our itineraries and road trip plans are free to view on our website because our mission is for more people to get into the wild and re-connect with nature.
What's the main difference between RVs and your vehicles?
No walls! Head to https://www.cypressoverland.com/post/overlandingvsrv to read the rest.
What's the deal with the rooftop tent? How does it work?
We love rooftop tents! Once you've tried them - it's hard to go back to traditional tents on the ground and RVs. Adventure travellers in Australia and Africa have been using rooftop tents for decades and the trend is finally arriving to North America. All our rooftop tents have mattresses and are super comfortable. You are guaranteed a great sleep under the Milky Way.
